Acoustic Timber: Beautiful acoustics for modern interiors.

Autex Acoustics combines high-end performance with a realistic timber look to deliver a versatile acoustic solution that resonates with designers and end-users alike.

It is widely accepted that poor acoustic environments can affect us in many ways – from our physical and mental wellbeing to our cognitive abilities and productivity. Accordingly, acoustic comfort in an interior space should be a primary concern for all design professionals.

However, interior acoustics are often overlooked during the initial design phase, only to surface as a serious issue after the space is in use. It can be difficult to find solutions that integrate seamlessly with planned designs. The new Acoustic Timber range from Autex Acoustics allows designers to create acoustically-balanced environments while celebrating the diversity and richness of timbers commonly used in interior spaces.

Acoustic Timber is a beautiful, high-performance acoustic treatment designed to realistically imitate timber. Available in Cube Acoustic Panels and Frontier Acoustic Raft Beam 100 and Beam 250 styles, it reduces and controls reverberated noise and echo in building interiors, offering tailored acoustic absorption across a wide range of frequencies, and provides a viable solution for interior spaces where real timber may not be suitable.

Acoustic Timber can be used for small to large scale wall and ceiling applications, from panelled wall and ceiling installations to decorative timber slat screens or ceiling features. Lightweight but semi-rigid, Acoustic Timber is made with 100% polyester, giving designers an authentic timber-look option that achieves a high standard of fire compliance, and helps them meet seismic requirements. Acoustic Timber’s long-term stability, durability and performance make it suitable for commercial, education, hospitality, theatres and auditoriums, recording studios and retail spaces, and it can be easily paired to match timber joinery and cabinetry to achieve visual consistency.

To ensure a natural, high-end finish during the design process, Autex Acoustics hand-picked a selection of premium woodgrains taken from real timber veneers and digitally printed them on to the panel surface with a safe, water-based, UV-cured ink. The company achieved high levels of accuracy and representation of natural timber by first collaborating closely with local timber veneer merchants to learn about timber brands, then by using an ultra-high definition camera to create digital copies of real woodgrains that were then translated faithfully onto the acoustic panels.

As with all Autex Acoustics products, the Acoustic Timber range is designed to be recycled at the end of its life. Acoustic Timber also contains a minimum of 60% recycled fibre (from PET plastics), and both Acoustic Timber panels and rafts are made from Cube, which is Declare certified to be Red List free and can be used in Living Building Challenge projects.

For over 30 years, Autex Acoustics has been a pioneer in designing, developing and manufacturing innovative acoustics that revolutionise the way acoustic treatments are applied within interior spaces. The company understands that every space is unique and offers customisation tools to enable designers to achieve their vision. The Acoustic Timber range is customisable with Precision Cut for intricate patterns, expanding screens, inlayed logos, motifs and murals for ease of install.

With Acoustic Timber, Autex Acoustics continue their long tradition of intelligent, sustainable solutions that not only integrate into different architectural contexts, but also contribute to the health and wellbeing of end-users.
