Airy Concrete by Caesarstone selected for Scottish residential project, Renton Hall.

For Renton Hall, situated on Edinburgh’s coastline, Caesarstone’s 4044 Airy Concrete grounds the warm and welcoming palette of the property's kitchen.

A Georgian manor that had fallen into a state of disrepair, the owners, Tibi and David Weir, envisaged the transformation of this neglected setting into a beautiful, purposeful and contemporary home.

The kitchen, created by Inglis Hall as part of the extensive renovations, formed the only inside route between the original house and the new timber framed extension, making it all the more important for mirroring both the history of the house as well as symbolising its new footing in modernity.

Timber clad interior features and joinery are combined with the cool and industrial inspired rough concrete style mineral worktop by Caesarstone to complete the project’s transformation. Available in both 20mm or 30mm thickness, this textured worktop surface is specially designed for indoor application - adding an airy feel, full of swirling shades of grey to the unique scheme.

This project began during lockdown, born from a love of Inglis Hall’s Instagram feed and developed over a number of Zoom calls throughout this period.

One of the biggest challenges, discussed early on, was the logistics of such a project. Inglis Hall, based in Lewes, East Sussex, is over 500 miles from Renton Hall, meaning stringent project management, attention to detail and unambiguous communication were essential if the creation of the Weir’s imagined kitchen was to become a reality.

Judging by the images, we feel it's safe to say that it did.
