Altro supports carefully crafted redesign scheme for The English Spirit Distillery.

The English Spirit Distillery produces some of the UK’s finest spirits and liqueurs.

So when it embarked on the conversion of its HQ to house a cafe, shop and viewing area with the working distillery as a focal point, quality was central to the brief.

First For Floors was tasked with securing a flooring solution to suit. And Stuart Dawes, managing director, had just the brand for specification in mind: Altro. “When I first came here it was a barn with a concrete floor. They told me what they wanted their result to be and straight away I knew that I wanted to work with Altro.

"We love their products and they have never failed us. We came up with products that would work well for them, and, being a barn with a lot of echoes, we knew we needed something to dampen that as much as possible without using carpet. That is where Altro Ensemble came into play, with the sound reduction, aesthetics, comfort underfoot, and its all-round durability.”

Altro Ensemble was chosen for the public-facing areas where first impressions truly count. For the washrooms, Altro XpressLay adhesive-free was specified bringing safety and speed of installation together with durable and elegant Altro Whiterock wall designs.

Designed to keep staff safe from slips, Altro Stronghold 30, was installed in the kitchen together with hygienic, impermeable Altro Whiterock White. In the staff room and bar area, Altro Wood adhesive-free brings safety and ease of maintenance. Altro Wood installed on the mezzanine walkway area and stairs also draws a biophilic focus to the areas where daylight floods the building.
