Arte launches duo of autumnal wallcovering collections: Brushed Suede & Washed Linen.

As we enter into a new season, Arte's latest collections perfectly mirror the organic palette of autumn.

Brushed Suede and Washed Linen each offer a plain option and a panoramic to suit all manner of schemes - statement or understated.

Brushed Suede

Brushed Suede takes its inspiration from paint and painting techniques reimagined as wallcoverings. The plain version is named after the brushed suede painting technique, where paint is applied to the wall in specific patterns to create a soft suede look. While the result is stunning, the process can be very time-consuming, labour-intensive and complex.

This original wallpaper now offers a stellar alternative with the same artisanal look. What’s more, it’s much easier to apply. The paint used in the printing process is so concentrated that it looks as if it has been directly applied to the wall.

Sherwood

Sherwood is akin to a large painting, taking its inspiration from the beautiful Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire. The forest is very popular among nature lovers for its many picturesque trails and is, of course, renowned for its historic association with the legend of Robin Hood.

The panoramic has been digitally printed on a very realistic linen texture and comes in three colour combinations.

Washed Linen

Washed Linen rethinks its humble textile namesake. Linen being a versatile material that has proven its worth in our interiors over time with its beauty lying in its natural, slightly uneven texture. This adds depth and character and creates a timeless, sophisticated look that exudes effortless elegance.

The plain version of this wallcovering range is a realistic interpretation of washed linen, that which has been soaked in small batches to obtain extraordinarily soft and supple fibres. The brush strokes impart a weathered patina that accentuates the washed effect.

Doudeville

Doudeville comprises a panoramic, printed on real textile, and named after Doudeville, a town in Normandy that's known as the linen capital of France. The subtle design was inspired by the origins of linen and the many flax fields in the coastal areas of Western Europe.

After harvesting, the flax stalks are left in the fields, creating a striking striped landscape with beautiful colour variations. This image, which is typical of Doudeville and other flax-growing regions, inspired this intriguing striped pattern.
