Laurent Peacock joins Future Icons for The Future of Craft at London Craft Week 2020.
Contemporary furniture and surface designer/maker Laurent Peacock joins Future Icons for The Future of Craft at London Craft Week 2020.
Laurent Peacock is delighted to announce that he has joined the Future Icons stable of innovative makers, artists and crafts people. His first exhibition with the group will be The Future of Craft, at the OXO Tower Barge house, as part of London Craft Week, in May 2020.
He will be showing a selection of furniture pieces which demonstrate his fascination with materials and the sometimes-surprising combinations in which these are deployed.
His ‘Piper X’ credenza, pictured above, features on the doors and drawer fronts his abstract ‘Piper’ custom surface made from whole peppercorns and bio-resin, for which he won the Shillingford Dulux Award in 2018.
Born out of playful curiosity and a request from his wife for a spice rack for their kitchen, Piper is a handmade, multi-layer composite material suited to furniture, cabinetry, surfaces and paneling.
