It all starts with a small section of the pattern… After a genuinely inspiring search through the riches of the V&A's Prints and drawings department, Surface View's final selection of four Timeless Classics is each the epitome of their type. Two are elegant damask designs, one a quintessential trellis, and one an exemplary geometric ceiling paper.
Once chosen, Surface View's team of designers began working with these amazing historical papers, a process their team relished. The development of the range took many months and lots of love.
Armed with a brief to create something entirely new, while showcasing the beauty of the original artworks, their designers set to work. They applied innovative techniques, layering textures, and ombré effects that emulate the peeling and sun-bleached walls of bygone eras.
