The BLOC STUDIOS x Tableau series is a collaboration between two studios sharing the same aesthetic of raw design.
The BLOC STUDIOS x Tableau series is a collaboration between two studios sharing the same aesthetic of raw design, in a most natural way but also with a sharp and brutalist approach. The vases are composed of a stone pedestal and a steel pipe.
Each piece is unique due to the use of a particular marble bloc with its own cut, colours and veins. The two sections are not fixed by a joint; the marble stone simply welcomes the steel pipe as a part of its essence, a part which can be easily detached and filled with water to accommodate flowers. The BLOC STUDIOS x Tableau series consists of 10 unique vases available at tableau’s concept store & studio in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Each piece is unique due to the use of a particular marble bloc with its own cut, colours and veins.
BLOC STUDIOS was founded in Carrara in 2014 with the intention of transforming raw, natural material into thoughtful everyday objects while preserving the inherent qualities of their chosen materials. Following the philosophy that every piece of marble contains a unique story waiting to be revealed, each piece is taken from industrially salvaged marbles and handmade in Italy. Based on the emerging vision of marble that involves re-thinking functional design out of industrial excess, bloc studios are built on the ideas of international collaborations and in-house designed pieces.
Tableau is a design, art and flower studio located in a 19th century building in Copenhagen. The studio, mostly known for its monumental floral installations in Denmark and abroad, creates new and innovative objects and vases for flowers and plants, which underline its singular vision. Tableau celebrates craftsmanship, multiple industries and layers of expressions where steel is an ongoing material. It welcomes you into a clash between raw materials and the softness of flowers, unique lines of design and contemporary art. The creative team’s motto is: simple building materials and architectural construction.
